Naked Couch Diving

Ingeneral Gwen is a little more of a daredevil than Cole but when Cole gets worked up, he can climb and jump with the best of them! Last night Cole introduced us to naked couch diving. He piled up all of the couch pillows and then jumped repeatedly off the couch. When sissy joined in on the fun it looked something like this (see pics).

Gwen Has Talent!

So...apparently Gwen is pretty good at stacking large blocks. She uses several techniques and successfully stacks them above her head every time!

Yesterday morning i took the kids to the fancy McDonalds playland. I had heard wonderful things about the toddler zone so we decided to check it out. I have never seen such an upscale McDonalds complete with a fireplace! The kids kept saying "Donalds" and loved sliding down the slide because as they went down their bottoms set off a keyboard. The look on cole's face the first time he went down was precious!

Gwen continues to spend every waking moment in the infant carseat and Cole has been enjoying tormenting her by sitting on her and her animals! (see pic above)

A fun weekend

Last week Cole decided to do a little discipline. The situation went something like this:
Gwen (sitting quietly in timeout as the timer goes off)
Cole (runs over to Gwen): "Why, Gwen, Why?" "Why throw carrots?" "Say sorry" "Clean up".
That about sums it up..

Yesterday we had a visit from the Andersons, Rhoades & Kreigers. We enjoyed a yummy turkey fry together and had fun catching up. Gwen and Cole were a little shy at first but it didn't take them long to come out of their shells. They LOVED being the center of attention and singing all of their favorites for everyone. They sang, danced, snuggled and had so much fun. Cole in particular was a ham during singing/dancing. His current favorites are The Wheels on the Bus, A Rum Sum Sum, Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

Nana & Pap Pap brought Gwen's infant carseat. This mronign when gwen woke up she looked up at daddy and said "play carseat". She has had a blast strapping Hop Hop in and also sitting in it herself. In fact, she watched TV from it (see above picture)

Today on the way to the grocery store, the kids had their first verbal fight that mommy and daddy could understand. They usually argue over which side of the car will have the most "diggers" but today the argument was over wanting more vs. less diggers. Cole started chanting "more diggers"and Gwen was annoyed. she kept saying "no more diggers" and "go away diggers". The argument escalated for a few minutes while mommy and daddy laughed in the front seats :)

Dr. Seuss's Birthday

Yup, we're still celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday a week late. Gwen and Cole love reading his books and wearing their adorable little hats. Today they still weren't feeling well so we played around the house and ran a quick errand. Thankfully, they got my memo about resuming a regular nap schedule upon arrival in PA.

Our Delaware Visit

On thursday we drove to DE for a visit with family and friends. First we went to Eileen and Ian's house for some fun. The kids played well but unfortunately didn't nap well at all, which led to fussy kids later in the evening. Later we went to Nana and Pap Pap's house. The kids were very excited to see them and the coo koo clock. Cole jumped out of his seat and threw his milk cup across the room when it came out.

On friday we went to the DE Children's museum with the Michalski family. Cole LOVED the water table room and didn't want to leave. The choo choo was also a hit as well as several ball machines.

On saturday gwen was not feeling well. Cole was so excited about breakfast and proudly said: "English Muffin Time!" in the voice of a game show host. Later in the afternoon, Pap Pap and Cole went for a walk while the girls colored and hung out at the house. Gwen was coloring and i said "psst. psst". She ignored me for awhile and then finally rolled her eyes at me. Nana and mommy cracked up and gwen tried to do it again but she was laughing too hard. So cute!

Cole's Haircut

This morning I took the kids to Sweet and Sassy for Cole to get his first salon haircut. Gwen's eyes lit up when she saw all of the bows and other girlie products as we walked through the door. We had to wait for a little while. The stylist, Gabrielle, was very sweet to cole and he even sat in the chair by himself. He refused to wear the cape but we went with it. He played with a glow ball that she handed him and stayed very calm until he realized that he was getting little clumps of hair all over him. After a short freak out he was fine again. Unfortunatly the stylist didn't do the best job and kind of butchered his hair. She kept going shorter and shorter to get things "straightened out". Oh well... Afterwards the kids wanted to walk hand in hand (pics to follow) around the promenade. We ate lunch at the pita pit and then did a little shopping for some summer baseball hats and sunglasses. Both kids were thrilled to pick out these items!

Last week when i wasn't feeling well i took the kids upstairs to look through some boxes of kids books. Cole found a book about trains and has been looking through it several times a day on his own. He has yet to let me read it to him. HE is also enjoying an M&M's counting book.
